NEW DELHI. Actor
Joy Mathew lashed out at Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan for supporting freedom of expression when it came to the viral song 'Manikya malar' from the film 'Oru Adaar Love', but keeping mum on the murder of a Congress worker from Mattannur.
Taking to his Facebook account, Mathew asked whether Pinarayi was supporting the 'freedom of expression' of the culprits involved in the killing of Congress worker Shuhaib as well.
“It seems he supports the killers as he is taking no action against them,” wrote Mathew.
Pinarayi’s silence on the controversial murder case, in which the ruling CPM faces allegations, has been widely questioned by the opposition in Kerala.
In his Facebook post, Pinarayi had stated that the threat against the song (that features latest Internet sensation
Priya Prakash Warrier) from Muslim fundamentalists cannot be tolerated as there is freedom of expression in the country.
His statement invited sharp criticism from the opposition and from many others who accused him of neglecting crucial issues and giving importance to trivial things that go viral.
